Federal Bill Against Pet Primates: Who are these HSUS "experts"
REXANO Editorial, May 2007
One of the things I've often wonder is this - who are these Humane
Society of United States, ( HSUS)
"experts" and what are their credentials?
These are the things that should be questioned ... there is going to have to
be a concerted effort by some primate group to testify to whatever committee
hears these bills ... A person should also DEMAND to see the documentation
and data (from accredited sources) to present the "other side of the story".
Remember these are the wackos who produce the "expert testimony" that dogs
shouldn't be kept as slave pets either ...
AND, last but not least, when I posted the monkey case from Maryland to the
large petlaw list, someone pointed out that monkeys are often used as
service animals ... to deprive people who depend on their help is also
**cruelty.**
Another last but not least - perhaps it is time for those of us who value
and depend on the company of our animals to tell the good Senators that we
would appreciate it they would stop listening to, and being influenced by
the opinions of these contribution collecting groups of fanatics with
extreme radical views about the way which social and cultural relationships
between human beings and their pets should be structured.
No one has the right to deprive human beings of their relationship with,
ownership of, and use of animals ... so knock it off and get back to stuff
that is truly relevant to the United States today ...like the war in Iraq,
poverty, high gasoline prices, disappearing jobs, etc, etc. etc ... I don't
think the majority of those who still bother to vote make that effort in
order to see the US Senate tell us how to take care of pets.
Author is a life long (over sixty years) fancier of
purebred dogs and blooded horses as well as an appreciator of all animals
,domestic and exotic.
They are a third generation family of fanciers and exhibitors and believe,
as do most rational Americans, that we have to do all in our power to
maintain our heritage and right to own and use animals in a humane manner.
