SB 6132 - 2007-08  Regulating the keeping of exotic animals

SENATE BILL 6132 TEXT PDF

NEW SECTION. Sec. 6. No person may keep an exotic animal in this state unless, before acquiring the animal, the person possesses a valid department of agriculture permit for that animal issued pursuant to section 9 of this act. No person may keep an exotic animal in this state for more than thirty days after the expiration, revocation, or  suspension of a permit.

Governor Gregoire signs animal, tourism bills into law


Gov. Gregoire has signed more bills into law.
Among the legislation signed today in Olympia is the law making the Pacific chorus frog the state amphibian.
Another bill outlaws the private ownership of exotic animals such as cougars, bears, monkeys and dangerous reptiles.
Gregoire also signed bills to create a tourism commission and to create innovation zones to link companies with research institutions.
